so many birds with one stone, and such benefits! perhaps we should adopt the Swiss model for our military defense. it’s certainly much cheaper. and every house would have a gun and a person who knows how to use that gun.

i don’t think there should be more gun regulation for the sake of added regulation or even to “keep guns out of the hands of criminals”. it should be very hard to get a gun in the exact way it’s very hard to get a driver’s license in Germany. each person who wishes to drive has to pay for a year-long course on driving and take a test which costs around $1000, whether you pass or fail. if we had requirements like that for owning guns, we could at least be sure that everyone who was licensed to own and operate a gun has a standard level of proficiency concerning its proper use and storage.
